Justin Lawler is a biohacker in Dublin. He monitors various biometrics and noticed that he was waking up just before 5AM at the same time his blood sugar was crashing. An experiment quickly revealed that there is a Goldilocks zone for carbs. High blood sugar levels can negatively impact sleep quality while too low creates a risk for interrupted sleep due to hypoglycemia. Justin used a combination of the emFit prosumer sleep monitor combined with a (CGM) constant glucose monitor to find his sweet spot (~85 mg/dl) for the best night sleep.

He also looked at (HRV) Heart Rate Variability numbers and compared it with his glucose data at night which suggested a higher blood glucose level will lead to a faster recovery (ie. higher HRV score).
