Last weekend PyCon 2017 took place in beautiful Portland, Oregon.  PyCon is the annual Python programming language conference and this year it brought together ~3300 Python enthusiasts.  Here are some of the highlights of PyCon 2017:

• Talks!  There were three full days of talks and you can see them all online here.  A few interesting ones to watch include:
  • Modern Dictionaries: A confluence of a dozen great ideas by Raymond Hettinger.
  • Kelsey Hightower’s Keynote
  • The Memory Chronicles: A Tale of Two Pythons by Kavya Joshi
  • Look mum no hands! From blinking LEDs to a bike speedometer with MicroPython by Tim Head
• Tutorials – These were intensive hour long and more deep dives into different Python topics.  You can see videos of the tutorials here.
• Education Summit – This was a mini conference-in-a-conference to discuss Python in education.  Check out the videos of the education summit talks here (including an excellent talk by Carol Willing and a talk by Adafruit’s Tony D.).
