After reading “The Oxygen Advantage” and “What Doesn’t Kill Us” I immediately wanted to be more mindful about my breathing. Spire makes a tiny wearable that monitors breathing, motion and vibration.

It is a lovely design that is just over 1″ wide and nearly 2″ in height. The Spire clips to the top of your pants or inside a bra. It is waterproof and holds respectable 7 day charge.

I have been particularly impressed with the App features for different types of calming breathing techniques. The wireless inductive charger is also pretty sweet. The Spire is much easier to engage with than the Muse EEG or Thync TDS as it does not require searching out a place to strap stuff to your forehead. It also provides more feedback than a Headspace meditation app.

Spire has a “state of mind map” which uses todays Spire data from all of their users to show calm, tense and focus levels across the U.S. It seems that New Jersey is really stressed out and everybody struggles with commuting.
