Scanadu ran a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2014 for their Scout tricorder. Customers spent between $199-$269 for this futuristic medical device which measures blood pressure, heart rate and blood oxygen.

Scout owners have been notified that Scanadu is shutting down support and that the short term study (18 months) is over. The customers are rightfully upset about paying over a hundred dollars to participate in a private study and be left with a bricked device.
