biohacker-drinks-1

Most holiday beverages will be a pass for the dedicated biohacker. The carbs and alcohol don’t necessarily jive with our lofty self-improvement goals. Here is a list of three “drinks” that have no alcohol, are low in carbohydrates and will be fun at any holiday party.

  1. Kombucha Mojito [Probiotic] – 2 part club soda, 1 part kombucha, 1 lime and 1 sprig of mint. The kombucha which contributes beneficial bacteria can be quite dry and will be easy to obtain from any grocery store.
  2. La Croix with Ketones [Energy] – La Croix makes 17 tasty flavors of sparkling water. There is no added sugar or carbs. in their products. The addition of KetoCaNa ketones causes an almost a euphoric rush of energy without any caffeine. The ketones come in a salt form of beta-hydroxybutrate (BHB). I recommend only use 1 tsp of orange flavored ketones with the cherry lime flavored La Croix. The La Croix will fizz heavily. Try to combine the ketones with the glass half full before topping it off with La Croix.
  3. Phenibut HCL [Relax] – Phenibut is a popular nootropic known for it’s calming effects. When ingested in larger doses (500mg or more) the effects can go from calm to feeling a bit tipsy. Don’t overdue it as it’s possible to have a phenibut hangover. I mix 500mg with water and drink. The citric acid like taste is a little intense, but it is a clever way to experience a mild buzz akin to a glass of wine.
