This is new (to us) – looks like Ubuntu is jumping in with an intense hardware + IoT marketing/event strategy. The video goes over cloning and some examples of where they see the software defining hardware. Maarten’s example was “make an open source MRI scanner” that would make “apps” on top of it and for the hardware “let China handle that”. Another example was an airport security scanner that would share your information with a retailer to make perfectly fitting clothes.
