Jennifer Kahn’s Ted talk about CRISPR gene drives is both astonishing and horrifying.  She explains how scientists and now hobbyists alike have the ability to change an entire species by modifying a sequence of DNA. She poses an excellent question. Should we be using gene drives to eradicate malaria by altering mosquito DNA? It’s a fascinating talk that deserves some discussion.
