Ramez Naam has become one of my favorite transhumanist leaders. He has a Kurzweilian POV. I like that he comes from a Computer Science background and writes both Nonfiction and Sci-Fi. His 2005 book “More Than Human” which is a little dated, but it is loaded with what is still bleeding edge technology. He did an excellent job of sourcing unique examples biotech that have not been overly discussed in other media. The content of this book is a fast easy to absorb read.

There are four core topics that I see consistently coming up in Mr. Naam’s books:

1. We can use technology to cure diseases and disabilities, why can’t we use it to enhance ourselves?
2. Some cultures embrace enhancements and this makes their laws dramatically different from countries which have a fear of biological manipulations.
3. Some of us will get upgrades and everyone else will be left out.
4. What if we had brain to brain communication?
